So I was just on youtube typing in random things and I watched a video about Alaska... and from the impression of the video it was saying Alaska is still America ... now this is confusing as I thought Alaska was a completely different country bordered of from America... but in the video it said Obama is the president of Alaska too.... can someone please clear this up.

Alaska is a one of the 50 States in the United States, as too is Hawaii
I can see how it may seem confusing as they are not connected to the mass of the other 48 states, and by area, Alaska is actually one of our largest states
