I've been looking for this today as well. I think when you post a forum and have response on it like my onyx gaurd horde map. The following poster beneath have a thanks button kind of where the thumbs up button is....

You must be the one who started the topic and you can only thank one person per topic it seems. I suggest if you need to thank someone post a topic saying thank you and when they reply to it thank them using the system ^.^
