DC' thought of the day: Games With Gold on Xbone

Ok so here is my idea for what Microsoft could do with the games with gold scheme: because the back catalogue isn't great what if Microsoft gave us 360 games but with the ability I unlock the achievements again!?

They could give us just the "important" one of the last generation. So they have just announced they own the gears franchise, why not give us the 4 gears games over two months, same game (maybe update the graphics) but the achievements can be unlocked. Also include all the dlc for it as well, or put it up as a bundle dlc for bit of coin. Then your got the classics like Fable, borderlands, crackdown, halo all expecting new games out some point this year and next so porting them to the Xbone I think would be great to get hype up for them games.

Just my thought on what they could/should do. Would you guys like them too do that? X

I think that hey need to offer the same quality as SONY. They got Bioshock Infinite and DMC last month. Two Triple A titles less than a year old! MS need to up their game on this because PS+ is looking like far better value right now.

It is certainly looking great for the free games you get, but xbox beats them hand down for features, service, the fact that you keep the games even if you cancel your subscription, and servers. Now I'm not saying sony can't offer those but until they do MS can afford to give people lesser games or until it becomes a real problem where people start saying "oh I went too ps4 because they give me a triple A title for free" which too be fair I can't see happening any time soon. Smile

Very true!! But think Titanfall could be massive for xbox one sales, I've spoken to a few people who have said they don't plan on buying an Xbone till Titanfall comes out! Certainly be interesting too see tho. But I just hope Xbone gold games are decent ones. Lol

Outlast on PS4 Which looks amazing.

This is what I don't understand, how are sony lot getting ps4 games already and Xbone nowt!! Microsoft has really dropped the ball with this!!

Yeah it's not enough to make me want to jump ship or anything, but PS4 players are getting the better deal by a mile. Uncharted 3 and Borderlands 2 are on the list too!

For customers that are still on the fence over which console to buy, this kind of thing can sway opinion.

Most of the games on there weren't very good. Except from Halo 3 dead rising 2 dead island and gears of war 1. They should do Left 4 dead that zombie game is awesome

Microsoft needs to use their brains instead of sitting on them. They should be offering AAA titles that people actually want to play. Lets say they give us Borderlands or even Borderlands 2 for example. The DLC for these games are good. If they give us a game like Borderlands then you know people will end up purchasing the DLC for these games. We get a great game and Microsoft makes some $ they probably wouldn't have pulled in otherwise. Lets face it, if someone waits for a game too be free they probably wouldn't buy it anyway. If they download it for free and like the game chances are they will think "I got the game for free so I can spend a bit of coin on the DLC". That's how I think anyway.

Couldn't they get Outlast like Sony did for the PS4? I really want to play that game.

As someone who games on both consoles I am of the opinion that psplus is the best thing that came out of the last gen.
I have no doubt that MS will get things right with GWG eventually but they should already be giving xbox one games IMO at least to try to match the competition. I've already had Resogun, Contrast, Dead Nation, Outlast, Don't Starve and Mercenary Kings on the PS4 so far.
Hopefully the recent changes at Xbox will see them step up to the plate.

Well I just got a PS4 but haven't got PS+ yet. I use my XB1 for multiplayer and everything other than exclusives. I will get PS+ but Dead Nation & Merc Kings don't tempt me.

So gutted that I missed out on Outlast. Sad

Hitman and Deadlight are good freebies on GWG this month. It's a step in the right direction...just need an XB1 offering now.

Contrast was my fave so far..Cracking game with great mechanics. I hope that comes free on the XB1 sometime cos I'd happily play through it again.

Anything free on the XB1 would be a bonus. Laughing

would be cool is Xbox does something like what Sony is doing with PlayStation Now
