Destiny

So, it's a week old.... What does everyone think?

Personally, I think it's a hell of a lot of grind with very little pay-off, the levels are too empty, not enough looting... Amazing graphics it definitely has - but that does not make a good game.... As it stands, I'm gonna give it a meagre 5/10... Sorry Destiny lovers.

I give it about a 8 just wish the story was good like Halo

I haven't played nearly enough of this game to say whether it's good or not, what little I have played makes me place this game at around the 7.5/8 mark but that could change the more I play it.

8 for me. It does get a little repetitive with bounties but I enjoy doing them. Multiplayer is pants but if I wanted to play a multiplayer game I'd play titanfall.
Is makes you work for your legendary gear but that's a good thing. 😊

I'll have to review my initial score and push it up a bit from 5 to 7.5 - I am enjoying it a lot more however, I do have some serious gripes with some of the content...

For the last three days, I've been playing strikes, weekly, heroic, patrols, story missions etc etc and I have not seen any engrams other than green. Three days. Within those gaming hours, I've played with many many people and they do get blue and purple drops.

Now - I'm not saying that I just want all the best gear right now - I just don't agree with the fact that I am putting literally hundreds of hours into this game and getting nothing in return in comparison to most other people. I don't understand why I am getting ZERO drops of either blue / purple engrams...

At the end of the day, blue drops are not worth much unless they are strange coins etc, however, I'd still like one or two please.

My next gripe is the exotic Auto Rifle I bought on Friday. The second level up NERFS the gun for PVP by turning it into a very slow firing piece of crap. Devestated. It's awesome in PvE but seriously, an upgrade that makes a gun worse in PvP?

Yes, I know I'm doing a bit of whining here, but that's because I want to stay in love with this game - my frustration with these things is making me reach for the off button much quicker and I can feel Titanfall's pull... I'm gonna wait and see how the next patch addresses things - if the drops don't improve to better than one blue every four days then I'll be very disappointed and start playing Scrabble instead.

I'm bang up for some scrabble! Although I'll probably get more legendary words than you. ;-)

Loving Destiny. The first game to actually take me away from Titanfall.
It's certainly not a 'typical' game and the real joy of it doesn't come until the end game where the game really does shine.
I completed the Raid this week with my clan and all I can say is WOWSERS! Totally awesome experience and one of the best co-op sessions I have ever taken part in and I have done shitloads of co-op.
I LOVE Crucible... especially when played with a fireteam of 3 or 6 clan mates.
I'm lucky in that we have loads of players in our clan so I always have folk to play with be it Vanguard, Strikes, Raids, Crucible, going for bounties, farming etc...
I'm having a blast with it

The crucible I find almost impossible... My reflexes must be appalling because I honestly can't kill anyone lol I spend most of my time dead or running around seeing nothing to shoot at, then dropping dead. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong?

I really want to do the raid but getting 6 people together is looking very difficult indeed...so many frustrations for me!

Just one final word on Destiny (Well more than one word but you know what I mean!)

DLC

£19.99 / £34.99 Season Pass

First DLC is an extra 3 missions on the moon. 3 MP Maps. A raid. Soft level cap to 32. New legendary / exotic gear.

Again, £19.99? Am I the only one who thinks this is an absolute rip off? I for one am glad I off-loaded Destiny weeks ago. Personally, I think it's a disgrace that Bungie thinks it is OK to put out a half finished game with no real story and then expect everyone to fork out the price of a new game for a very small amount of additional content.

I know it doesn't matter what I think as I no longer play it, but seriously.... Buying into this will only make it acceptable for companies to go down this route in future... I think it's a sad day for gamers when they take this kind of crap and think it's alright!

Well it is a bit steep, but then I think that I buy a Blu Ray for £15 an get 2 hours out of it. I'll get many hours out of this content so I'm fine with the price.

What I'm not fine with is that PS4 gets an extra strike with the DLC, which will be exclusive until Fall 2015. They didn't tell us that was going to happen when we bought the season pass.

I don't get the blu-ray similarity..... You would surely rent a film if you were only going to watch it once or at least make it a night out at the cinema?

My point is more about the already lack of unique content and the fact folks are being charged an extortionate premium for very little else.... If I paid £19.99, I'd expect a lot more. Hell, Rayman Legends at £17 second hand offers more value than Destiny and it's announced DLC so far.

But it's not renting it's buying. Also if I took Candy to the Cinema it would cost £20 for the tickets alone.

It has more content than COD or Titanfall DLC which is only a few maps.

I hate that the content is already on the disk and we have to pay to unlock it. Corroded has already explored a few of them by glitching into them.

But I'm still having a lot of fun on this game so I'm looking forward to the DLC. I just hope that they sort out matchmaking for the raids, as it's a pain in the ass getting people together to do them.

The DLC price is an undefendable rip off. Someone should let Bungie/Activision know that $20 does not equal £20.
