Subject: US Navy SEALs Face Disciplinary Action for Their Work on Med Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:25 pm
Seven US Navy SEALs are facing disciplinary action for their involvement with Medal of Honor: Warfighter, with a CBS News report noting that the members are being investigated for acting as paid consultants on EA and Danger Close's military shooter, despite still being on active duty. One was supposedly involved with the mission that killed Osama bin Laden.
Apparently, the offending Navy SEALs disclosed classified material that had been issued by the Navy while they were at work consulting on the Warfighter. Furthermore, CBS reports that the Navy SEALs' participation as consultants violates the unwritten code asserting that "SEALs are silent warriors who shun the spotlight."
Reportedly, the seven members (two Senior Chief Special Operators and five Chief Special Operators) have undergone severe reprimand and have had their pay halved for two months. EA issued a statement to Polygon, stating: "We do not know if the veterans who consulted on the game were in contact with the Department of Defense."
