| A new Assassin's Creed game featuring a new hero and time period will be coming out during fiscal year 2014, Ubisoft has announced.
Fiscal year 2014 means any time between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014.
Speaking during the company’s earnings call, Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot promised a major leap forward for the Assassin's Creed franchise, indicating that the game would be developed by a new team. Traditionally, Ubisoft Montreal creates the Assassin’s Creed series, with the help of numerous other Ubisoft studios around the world.
[Edit: The game will be developed by across a number of studios, as per usual]
So will it be a next-gen title? Will it be called Assassin's Creed IV? What will the new time period be? What? How? When? Who? Lots of questions remained unanswered, but we'll bring the news as soon as it breaks.

| I don't know what the problem with Assassins Creed 3 was? It's one of those strange ones. Everything should have been right but it felt wrong somehow.
