Rumor: Gears of War Collection to be Shown at E3 2015, Will be 1080/60FPS

Rumors are perhaps my third least favorite things on this planet, the first being small hands and the second being One Direction. Why do they even exist?
That being said, I can more or less avoid my top pet peeves, but every now and again rumors must enter my life, sometimes for the greater good, other times… Well, not so much.
The rumor of the day surround the highly anticipated, yet completely unannounced Gears of War collection for the Xbox One. It’s been on the tips of tongues for months and die-hard Xbox fans have been running around, wild eyed and frizzy haired, usually screaming “it’s real man, it’s real. You don’t know nothin’!”
Earlier today one cheeky chap managed to coax a response from Xbox’s top boss Phil Spencer by asking when the collection will be coming. While Spencer didn’t confirm or deny it, he did give a tiny teaser that peaked the interest of just about everyone and their Gears of War loving mothers. He said “haha, I can’t announce that. But stay tuned.”
It’s far from confirmation, but it’s a nudge in the right direction none-the-less.
Then we have the “insider report.”
This one is a little more out there, so out there that the aforementioned wild-eyed fans would stop and slap you in face for speaking it out loud.
According to X-Rays, the Gears of War Collection will be shown off at E3 later this year with some gameplay footage and that it’ll run at the fabled 1080p/60fps and will release this year. Sounds like the wildest dreams of every Gears of War fan, right?
Well go to the cupboard and get some salt ready, because this is far from confirmed and we can’t rightly report this as fact until something a little more solid comes along.
However, according the X-Rays, Black Tusk isn’t working on the re-master, but it’s instead being developed by another developer. Another round of salt?
This one actually seems to be quite logical. Black Tusk are currently working on the next big Gears of War game, so it’d be a bit of a stretch of their resources to be crafting a brand new game natively for the Xbox One as well as re-master the older Xbox 360 games for next-gen console.
Before you go running naked in the streets declaring that you knew it was real, please, keep your expectations in check. Nothing hurts more than something that turns out to be a dud, so take this as you will and wait until E3 2015. Fingers and toes crossed, lads.
