Gunslingers - The Gears of War 3 Clan for Adults

Are you interested in socializing with Gears of War 3 players your age but haven't been able to "weed out" all the adolescent players? Have you been unable to join traditional, time-consuming clans because, being responsible adult, you have had to juggle your free time with going to college, taking care of children, or being employed in a full time job? In short, are you interested in an online experience akin to "shooting the bull" with a group of drinking buddies? If so, then the Gears of War 3 Gunslingers (AKA: The Gearslingers) is the right place for you!


We are fortunate to have over 2,500 adults registered on our homepage.
We have the largest collection of parents. And we have the largest collection of the working men (and women) members.

If you would like to join the club, you need only to fulfill two things:

We like to ascribe the Gunslinger experience akin to having drinks with some buds after work or partying with them on the weekends. Nothing stops the music faster than a few knuckleheads, so we do have a few guidelines we expect people to follow during their stay:

As a nod to the exciting release of Gears of War 3 this week, we have some themed updates for the Gunslingers clan!

1.) Gears of War 3 Launch Party - Are you planning on getting the game on midnight? Me, too! Join the rest of us as we get some midnight mileage in the game! Learn more about its extremely simple set-up by visiting the GS Event Calendar.

2.) Gears of War 3 Master List Unlocked - We are a mere day away until we have copies of the game in our hand and, more importantly, our Xbox360s. Because of that, the Gears of War Master List has been unlocked! Add your Gamertag to the list and send out friend invites to all the fellow GSers on it. Be sure to check the Master List often because we will be adding new people to it all the time!

3.) Gears of War 3 Game Specific Chat Added - If you have a good conversation going about the game but the Lobby Chat is getting too busy to keep the dialog going or coordinate meet-ups in game, you can now use the chat room specifically for us Gearslingers! Check the Game Specific Chat drop down menu to find the chatroom.

4.) Gears of War Themed Smiley Added - Bloody chainsaws are a bit of a hallmark of the Gears of War franchise. With that in mind, the following smiley has been added as an option to use while you post in the GS Forums:

5.) Gears of War Arcade Game - To further celebrate the release of Gears of War 3, a "hidden numbers" game themed with images of Gears of War has been added to the GS Arcade! We have to do something while we can't play the real game, right?

WELCOME TO THE GUNSLINGERS AND THANK YOU ALL FOR JOINING!!!

It's a bit earlier than when I usually mention it in our recruiting thread, but considering we have got so many people walk through our saloon doors in the last week, I wanted to mention Frosty Pints a little earlier than normal.

Crack open your favorite brew, stop by the GS Chats and connect with fellow members for some drunken gaming fun. Going strong since 2008, Frosty Pints is a particularly great time for new members to meet other Gunslingers and to swap friend codes, PSNs or gamertags.

Frosty Pints takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings, which actually means all day Friday and Saturday due to having members from time zones across the globe. (Quite the bender, huh!?) The busiest times tend to be from 3:00pm PST and on.

Not only are all our newest members welcome to join in on the celebration, but all of you fellow hard working adult and parent gamers reading this is welcome to join the Gunslingers by registering in our forums and taking part in the party!

Do you guys have many European members? I am from South Africa but my Live account is registered with an English address (more people online and easier to find games). I am 31 and a real team kinda player. I'm sure I would enjoy playing with you guys but just want to know if I will be able to join your matches (afraid I will lag too much in American region).

Admittedly, our European specifically for Gears of War 3 is outnumbered by our North American members. Going by your and Llewellyn response, I hope that ratio gets better. That said, I think you would fit in really well in GS. Whatever you decide thank you for the interest!


I don't know about you, but I was starting to think that Friday was NEVER going to get here! Alas, it turns out the weekend still exists so it is FROSTY PINTS time for all my fellow adult Gears of War gamers!

After scratching one's head over course work assigned during night classes, after being reminded that is it about "working smart, not hard" by a work supervisor that ironically does neither, after signing one's paycheck away to bill collectors, after getting dinner ready for a family, the LAST thing a parent or hard working adult gamer wants is to have an over complicated gaming experience as they unwind during the weekend.

That is what Frosty Pints is all about!

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder. But this season also means something else: It's gamin' time! Between all the new releases and all the folks scouting around for new folks with whom to play, it is a great time of the year for us gamers. The Gunslingers clan is no exception to the recent buzz of activity. Take the following bulletins for example:

Membership Milestone - The Gunslingers clan is officially over 2,600 members strong! That is simply amazing! A big thanks to all you fellow mature, casual gamers out there who keep joining up with the rest of us and making the good times even better! If you are reading about us for the first time, come check us out.

New Usergroups - We are always trying to find new ways to customize your experience in the Gunslingers, which is why we have introduced the new Usergroups feature. Show your fandom for this game by joining the Gear of War 3 GSers group! It is an additional feature for those of you trying to keep tabs on the most active 'slingers for the game you love.

GS Banner Exchange - There is probably no other clan on Earth who has its members collectively make so many high-end banners for themselves. If I only had half their talent! New GS Arcade Game - For the Tower Defense-style fans among us, we have installed Fujitsu Defender to the ever custom and ever expanding Gunslinger Arcade! Granted it is no Gears of War 3, but it is something to keep you busy while the boss isn't looking and you are waiting to get back home for some real gaming!

The Gunslingers Newsletter for the Week of 10/3/2011

We have a few updates at the Gunslingers I would like to share with the rest of you fellow mature, casual gamers!

GOW3 Capture the Leader Tournament - Our GOW3 Gunslingers are putting our first tournament this coming Saturday. "Capture the Leader" is the game mode in question and all fellow parent and hard working adult gamers are invited to take part in the event! Check out our custom Event Calendar for details!

GS Arcade - Jam away to the Tenacious D song, "Devil May Fry," in the Guitar Hero inspired game. We install a new game to the Gunslingers Arcade every week, and this musical fare is our newest addition! Hit those notes, and get the high score!

Sports Section - Many adult gamers are also sports fans. Gunslinger members are no exception! To reflect the fact that international sports are in full swing, we have added a brand new sports section to the Gunslingers Forum, complete with real time stats and game scores for the NFL, FIFA, NHL, and college (American) football!
