Why are these two companies making such a hash of promoting their new consoles?

Microsoft made a complete pigs ear of E3 last year, they dug themselves a hole so deep that they are still trying to climb out. If they were going to announce a new stance on DRM, why the hell did they not explain what they were actually planning to do instead of letting everyone go into a blind panic?

Also why have they not promoted some of the features of the Xbox One? For example the fact that dual console owners only have to pay for one digital copy of the game and are able to play it online with full online features. Why have they not made it known that each gold membership can have up to 10 users on the subscribers main console with full Gold benefits?

Nintendo are even worse! They have built a fantastic console for families yet given the stupid name "Wii U" most general consumers aren't even aware that it's a different console than the Wii.

The Wii U is backwards compatible not only in software but in hardware as you can use your old Wii remotes and nunchuck. That's a hell of a back catalogue of games to get you going.

Another great feature that they never promote is the fact that the Wii U game pad can be used as an alternate screen for many of the games. This means that you can free up your TV so you can watch your programs and your kids can play their games on the pad.

The only ones that have strangely got it right is SONY. They have a console that pretty much does f*ck all apart from play games, and marketed that as a great thing. Hats off to SONY you win the promotion battle, that's for sure.

Because nintendo do not care anymore, the have the Nintendo fan boys and part time soft core gamers market nailed down, I mean Christ they made a loss last financial year and they turn round a give everyone a free game! They are past caring.

Microsoft are going through many back room changes at moment, people leaving all of a sudden plus the fact someone had a brilliant idea of trying to turn the xbox one in to the console version I steam because steam works and hoping to boost number by PC gamers buyin one, forgetting that I gamers are just that, PC gamers! Most being self entitled fan boy pricks who look down their noses at consoles and believe console gamers to not be real gamers. Also the fact, even tho Microsoft failed they atleast tried to do something new, credit there.

MS certainly painted themselves into a corner but I'm sure over time they'll start to get it right.

I'm getting an XB1 Titanfall bundle and it'll be interesting to see how it compares with my PS4.

Not sure why you think it's strange that Sony got it right though? They've been on an upward curve since they introduced PS+ and were always gonna do well with a new console.
